Five on Friday {Life Lately}

Happy Friday, Lovelies!

I hope your week was great! I’ve spent the last several days recovering from traveling & soaking up time with my puppy child since our separation of said traveling. It’s been so refreshing to be at home and to have almost no plans this weekend! Tonight I’m off to a concert with the Church ladies -- YAY!

As the usual, today I am linking up with the Five on Friday ladies & all the cool kids.

National Farm Machinery Show

As much of a girly girl as I am, I DO work in agriculture! I know…I know…most people who know me find it hard to believe too. But I LOVE it! I didn’t grow up on a farm but got involved with the agriculture industry when I joined FFA in high school (Fitting since it IS FFA Week!). But enough about that…my job allows me to get to work with pretty cool people & travel to places like the National Farm Machinery Show in Louisville, KY. It’s the largest show of its kind & people come from all over the world to visit. I won’t bore you with all the details of tractors & combines but it was super fun & I got to catch up with lots of old friends.

Wine + Market

While in the great state of Kentucky I was able to spend Valentine’s Day with one of my college roomies! She treated me to an evening in Lexington but my favorite place she took us was “Wine + Market”. It was a quaint little wine & cheese market just off down town. They host a wine tasting every Friday evening & since it was Friday AND Valentine’s Day they were offering a special Sparkling Tasting. It was incredible. They not only gave us phenomenal wine, but they gave us all the history behind different types of Sparkling Wine. SO COOL! They also had a counter of fresh cheeses, an area for fresh, local produce, & a selection of craft beers. The atmosphere was perfect. I can’t wait to go back & if you’re in Lex, it’s a MUST see.

College Game Day

Being from Kentucky, I definitely bleed blue! Despite the fact I didn’t go to UK, the Cats have always been the top team in our house (until I got married of course…now L thinks it’s up for debate. HA!). My super friend had ESPN College Game Day tickets… on the FRONT ROW. No big deal. We were on TV..kinda a lot. IT was awesome! It was so much fun & makes me miss the college scene EVEN more!

This was a picture a friend sent us of their TV! Check out those two gingers in the top right corner!

Trader Joe’s.

I am slightly obsessed! I have been a couple times but I cannot get enough. Between their gorgeous fresh flowers, unique (& delish) food options, & phenomenal wine selection I want to go EVERY day! But there’s SO much in there! What are your favorite TJ’s products?

My first trip of many...obsessed with this store!

Tuesday Tea

Last but most definitely NOT least is TUESAY TEA! I am so pumped to be linking up with three of my favorite bloggy friends for a link-up each week. It’s been in the works for a while & it’s FINALLY here. We begin THIS Tuesday, February 25th and you can find all the details here. Khala, Sam, Reneé, & I hope to see you then!

Thanks so much for stopping by! Leave me a comment so I can visit you too!
Do any of you have exciting plans this weekend?!

Frankly my dear...have a great weekend!

  1. Okay...TJ's loves in our house include (but not limited to!): TJ's turkey meatballs, frozen chicken cilantro lime patties, orange chicken (Mark's fave), haberno lime (I think it's the flavor) tortillas, their canned vegetarian chili (turkey is good too!), their bottled seltzer water...I could go on and on! I'm your girl if you need suggestions!

They also have the BEST appetizer selection. I always volunteer to bring apps to a party because TJ's makes me look so fancy! ;)

  2. ohhh maaan we don't have a TJ's...we don't have anything!!!! haha ps so so excited for the link-up!! xoxo Have a great weekend and see ya monday!

  3. Love TJ's...the one in NYC requires subway/taxi rides and usually has a theme park type ride to the register depending on when you go so I sadly don't get there as much as I would like! But...I love it! I love using their coconut oil when I am cooking instead of olive oil...great appetizer selections if you are hosting, ummm junk food quilty pleasure are their turkey corn dogs! For real. AND their champagne pear vinaigrette is insane. Their pizza dough too--so good! So much-- Elise is the TJ's queen though...I sure miss being able to shop their with ease! Happy Friday, sweets! Xx.

  4. I was just in Louisville, KY a few weeks ago! FFA is huge in central PA and we also have a huge farm show complex that happened a few weeks ago that was a lot of fun!

  5. TJ's now just got major cool points because of that card! how precious! that would be adorable framed as well :)

  6. I love Trader Joes we just got one 2 months ago :) The Wine is amazing.... Hope you have a great weekend

  7. I love Trader Joes! I always find great stuff there and try things that I normally wouldn't. Happy Friday!

  8. That's cool that you had a good time with the National Farm Machinery Show! I come from a farming background on my Dad's side of the family though my parents aren't farmers. I've gone to a lot of tractor and steam engine shows in my day!

  9. LOVE Trader Joe's. When you visit (because I'm forcing you too eventually) we'll go and buy whatever you want! Love it! So happy you had a nice work trip and got to catch up with some friends! And give me wine and food any day, and I'm a happy camper. Cheers, darling! Can't wait for Tuesday Tea! xo

  10. Game Day is also so much fun...for football & basketball! And I may have to check out Trader Joe's after all these awesome comments.

  11. It's finally Friday! So glad you had a good time with the show and got to catch up. How neat is it that you were on TV! And OMG, I love TJ's. I actually was thinking of taking a trip up there this afternoon.

    Have a beautiful weekend,

  12. I love Trader Joe's too!! My favorite things to buy are: dark chocolate power berries, peanut butter granola bars, cous cous, dried fruit and of course fresh flowers.

  13. Ohh TJ's is THE BEST - I adore the dark chocolate covered espresso beans and the eggplant hummus and the honey wheat pretzels! So dang tasty - you really can't go wrong. Oh and the prices on flowers are pretty amazing :) I'm planning a grocery trip there today and looking so forward to it!
