Five on Friday {Happy Weekend!}

Happy Friday, Friends!
It's almost the weekend! YAY!

I am linking-up with AprilChristinaNatasha, & Darci for Five on Friday!

Marley Lilly + Monograms

Have y'all heard about the new Marley Lilly App? As if app shopping wasn't enough - they have a free monogram creator! Love at first sight! Check out all the info here & download the app today!

Influence Network - Classes

Several months ago I joined the Influence Network. As part of this awesome group of believers, they offer classes in a variety of areas. From blogging basics to spiritual growth...these classes are informational,  applicable, & exciting!

Part of my March goals was to take a class that really challenged me. I signed up for Let's Get Intentional by Jacey Verdicchio & it was incredible. Y'all HAVE to look into the network & definitely check out Jacey!

New Friends in New Places

Most of you know I moved several months. North. Uhg. But you go where the Lord calls right?! We've been making new friends at church and that's been such a blessing. But last week, I got a text from a friend saying some people from our good ole alma mater, Murray State, had just moved in...accross the parking lot in our apartment complex. What?! If that's not a total God thing & complete blessing to Luke & I, I don't know what is!

So here's to new friends, from old places. AND the NCAA tournament...we're on our way this afternoon! Go Cats!

Birthday Celebrations + March Madness

Last week I was all about some birthdays & basketball! Luke had a great birthday & we soaked up sports all weekend...I loved it!

How's your bracket going so far?!
Not gonna lie (bragging moment)....I am currently at number one in our work bracket challenge! Whoop Whoop!

Cancer Blows!

If any of you have tuned into my Wednesday's in the Word, you'll probably have read about a super close family friend & her battle with cancer. She beat it once & now it's back.
I don't say the word a lot, but I HATE cancer. It steals people's joy, cuts lives way to short, & tries to set limits on God. That's never ever going to happen.
As an encouragement for my sweet friend, we are hosting a party.
Who says we have to be sad?!
God's plan will be accomplished regardless, right?
I believe in miracles & the power of prayer. Will you pray for her this week?

Check out these invites I found while scrolling through Pinterest this week. Cancer Blows!

Thanks so much for stopping by! Leave me a comment so I can visit you too!

Frankly my dear...Happy Weekend!!

Mission Cute {March}

Happy Friday Eve, Friends!
This week has absolutely been dragging -- thank goodness tomorrow is Friday!

Today I am so pumped to share with you about my March MissionCute box! I mentioned it on last week's Five on Friday & I love it so much I wanted to bring you a complete overview.

What is MissionCute?
Mission Cute was created by my bloggy friend, Samantha from The Ledford Life!
It's a subscription box program, similar to Birchbox, but WAY better! As my friend Nina said, "It's like Etsy in a box." And I can't agree with her more! There is one fun fact though that puts the icing on the cake - 50% of subscription dues go directly toward a new non-profit organization each month. That's right. YOU get a box full of amazing items from small businesses across the country AND a local charity receives funding! What other subscription box does that?!

Want to know more?...Continue on, lovelies!

What comes in the boxes?
So glad you asked! Here's an glimpse into my March box. I was NOT disappointed, let me tell ya!

Clean Line Soap Company Double Clay Facial Soap

Handmade soap is wonderful but this stuff is phenomenal!! The smell caught my senses immediately, but the quality is great! I am super pumped about this item for so many reasons! Check out Clean Line Soap Company for more info!

Simply Whimsical Gifts Pot Pinchers

Let's be honest, pot holders are not really that cute. Functional maybe, but not cute. UNLESS you have a pair of these lovely Pot Pinchers from Simply Whimsical Gifts! They're SO great & absolutely eye catching in a rather drab pot holder drawer!

What's better than cute AND functional?!

Vanilla & Rose Coffee Cozy

I am such a sucker for knitted items and coffee. But put them together and it's pure joy! This month's box included just that with this adorable coffee cozy from Vanilla & Rose.

The Woodberry Press Greeting Cards

I first heard of this sweet little card shop from Khala at The Birdie Bowl & fell in love at first site! I am slightly obsessed with Haleigh on insta & all her papery goodness. Visit her shop to see for yourself!

This month's box included three sweet greeting cards. Can you guess my fave deery?!

How much is it to sign up?
It depends! While Mission Cute is affordable from the beginning, it's cheaper if you sign up for a longer subscription! You also can't forget, 50% of all subscription dues are donated each month - to a NEW organization. Translation: YOU get great stuff AND a worthwhile cause get's critical support they need. Need I say more?!

How do I find out what charity my subscription is going towards?
Another great question! As I already explained, half of the net precedes from each month's subscriptions benefit a charity. That's awesome! But that's not all...each month you receive information in your box about the organization, as well as can get connected through the website. This month, The Howard Center's Westview House benefitted directly from MissionCute & their subscribers (that's me!). Read more about this month's charity here.

I am in, Where do I sign up?!
Wonderful! You won't be disappointed!
Head over to Mission Cute's website & sign-up using their simple form. If there's a slight waiting list, don't worry, I was only on there for a day or so. But, don't delay! Sign-up by April 10th to make sure you're on the list! You'll love it!

So that's that! What do you think?! Isn't Mission Cute the best?! I am totally game for shopping local & handmade, but having it shipped to me AND contributing to a worthy cause is a no brainer! I love Sam, but she has no idea I am posting this today - that's how much I am crushing on this, y'all! If you're looking for the perfect subscription box, here it is!

Frankly my dear...Mission Cute = Mission Success!

Wednesday in the Word {Jonah Part 2}

Happy Wednesday!!
It's time for Wednesday in the Word & the second edition of my Jonah study!

Last week I shared with you about how God relentlessly pursued Jonah & how he does the same for me & you! I also shared about how I am just like Jonah. Read all about it here!

As I have studied deeper about Jonah's journey, I am even more certain that I am like him. I relate to his stubbornness to follow God & his deep desire to make it right again in his prayer in chapter two.

When my life was fainting away,

I remembered the Lord,
and my prayer came to you,
into your holy temple.

There have been many times in my life I have realized that I blatantly chose to run in the opposite direction of God's call. There are also those moments that I realize, despite following my own will, God's plan still prevailed. That's something that is so evident in these next few chapters of Jonah. He was called to go to Nineveh & bought a ticket to the furthest place from there!
Yet, God appointed a fish (v.17) long before Jonah made his decision. Do you see that? God knew that Jonah would choose not to follow his call. Just like he knew Adam & Eve would fall. Just like he prepared a savior for us. God knows. He has a plan, a purpose.

While in small group this week, we discussed all the things we were learning in the word & I spoke about Jonah. One of the other ladies shared her experience with Jonah & I was captivated.
While we know that God appointed the whale to swallow him up, we seem to overlook the idea of protection. We envision this giant beast scooping up this tiny man & hanging out in the ocean. However when we take a step back, we see the whole plan. God not only appointed the fish, he appointed his path. I can only imagine how sweltering & stinky the belly of a fish must be. But think about it, the ocean is a scary, dangerous place. There are other creatures to worry about, it gets cold deep in the ocean, much less breathing underwater. But none of that's an issue when you've been swallowed by a God's appointed whale. That whale - that storm - Jonah was facing was NOT fun. Just like our struggles & seasons of hurting in our lives are not fun. But (there are always a but to these stories), we are still being protected from the dangers of the deep ocean or the outside world around us. Friends, do you see that picture? Our God calls us to an about face when we do wrong, but he still provides protection in the most loving way possible! We also see that when Jonah repents, the fish places him in just the right location to travel to complete HIS plan.
If THAT is not a vision of a purposeful, loving God, I don't know what is!

This is critical, y'all -- God's plan will always prevail...despite your objections & unwillingness. Always.
Be encouraged though!
We serve a God that wants to use us. That pursues us. That lovingly sets us straight...countless times.

“Where could I run away from your presence…?

If I… lived far across the sea,
even there your hand would… take hold of me.”

I hope you're loving Jonah as much as I am & I pray that you can relate to his trials.
Have a great rest of the week, friends!

Franky my dear...his plan prevails.

Tuesday Tea {Embarrassing Moment}

Happy Tuesday Tea, Friends!

So today I have to share a bit of an embarrassing moment with you!
It's probably not really that embarrassing & really not that funny, but as a'll understand!

A few months ago a fellow blogger tracked down my email to (thankfully) inform me that I was a "no-reply blogger". I had no idea! She referred me to a few sites to quickly fix the problem & that was that. But last Friday when I was catching up on everyone's Five on Friday, I commented on Chesson from A Southern Twenty-Five's post, thanking her for spreading the word - only to realize by profile had reverted back to the dreaded no-reply. Blogger fail for sure!

So...what is a "no-reply blogger"?! How do you know if you are one?
Well that's what I am here to tell you about!

Don't you love when you receive comments on your blogs? And don't you love to reply to those new friends? Well, being a "no-reply blogger" makes it impossible for us to connect! Here's why...when you are a "no-reply blogger" and you leave me a sweet message, I get a nice email that I absolutely love! But when I go to reply, this is what I see:

When I hit reply it actually sends an email, but not to you! There are thousands, millions, probably billions of lost little comments out there just floating around in cyber space...not cool.
Let's fix that!!

This tutorial is for those Google+ users. However there's an easier fix for those already using the original blogger profile. Simply follow steps four through seven.

Step One...Go to your blogger dashboard & click on your settings button.

Step Two...Revert to Blogger Profile.

Step Three...Continue to switch to the blogger profile & enter your information.

Step Four...Go to your Blogger Profile in the top right hand area of your screen.

Step Five...Edit Profile, also on the right side of your screen.

Step Six...Make sure the box beside "Show my email address" is checked & your email is the one you want comment replies to go too. This is the most important step...make sure to click SAVE at the bottom of this page.

Step Seven...You're done, You are officially a Reply Blogger!!
You'll return to your profile where you can click back to your dashboard. Your comments will now show up in my inbox with your email so I can reply, YAY!

Note: If you're super adamant about using Google+ you may return to Google+ by clicking on the button in the left hand column. I don't really recommend it & if you do, check & double check by leaving comments for yourself or a trusted bloggy friend to make sure your settings carried over.

I hope this little guide was helpful for you. If you have any questions or are still unsure whether you are a "no-reply" blogger or not, leave me a comment on this post or a test comment on your own blog & see if your email comes through!

I love hearing from each one of you & I love making new make sure you're not a "no-reply" blogger! Happy Tuesday, dolls!

Frankly my dear...don't be THAT blogger!

My Old Kentucky Home

Good MONDAY Morning, Friends!

Today's post it totally over the top with all things Kentucky! I know - YOU probably don't care...but last night's win is taking them US to the Sweet Sixteen in hour from my current residence! Yep, THIS girl will be there!

So in good spirit, welcome to my Old Kentucky Home!

Something to know about Kentucky women is we are a different breed all together. In the famous words of a Kentucky gal herself, Ashley Judd, "Tough girls are from New York. Sweet girls, they're from Georgia. But us Kentucky girls, we have fire and ice in our blood. We can ride horses, be a debutante, throw left hooks, and drink with the boys, all the while making sweet tea, darlin'. And if we have an opinion, you know you're gonna hear it."

via                                                                          via

Kentucky may be home to beautiful horses & unimaginable skylines, but most importantly it's the land of the bluegrass, bourbon, & basketball of course!

And in all good's to Friday's game - Don't you just love MARCH?!
Have a happy week, friends!

Frankly my dear...GO CATS!
