#DoItHerself

Yesterday my sweet friend Lauren posted this picture on her instagram & I had to sign up too!  Have y'all ever heard of Home Depot's Do It Herself Workshops?! Every third Thursday of the month they host a Ladies DIY night. The best part - it's FREE!!

November's project is this awesome Joy Marque! If y'all have a Home Depot nearby you definitely need to look into it!

Thanks, Lauren!

Door DIY

I have to have the best husband! He's been working 80+ hours a week & he still finds time to help my with my crazy DIY projects! This is definitely one of my favorites!

This old door was taken out of my great grandparent old farmhouse & now it will be in my house! When it's not being used at markets for Gingerly Styled (YAY!), I'll use it to display fun stuff on the chicken wire!

Have you done any DIY projects with doors?

Happy Halloween!

I have a confession: Halloween is not my favorite holiday. I am much more of a Fall girl. Honestly I only enjoy Halloween when I'm with my childhood bestie - she's the queen on Halloween.
And to add to my frustration...I was ding dong ditched last night & found the creepiest pumpkin outside my door. Uhg.

So I'll the be weirdo at home with a bucket of candy, Halloweentown on Disney, & my crafts!

Wishing you a fun & safe Halloween!! Don't eat all the kid's candy! :)

Frankly my dear...Happy Halloween!!!!

Getting Real

Let's be honest here...I dropped the ball.

I think it was one of those things that I really wanted to talk about & honestly needed to talk about...but just didn't. Maybe it's because my heart is so full of the things that aren't important I couldn't even talk about the things that were/are important.

Yesterday's Wednesday's Words was on time management & how we take notice of God's daily blessings. I had half a post written with full intentions of posting it later...but I didn't.

And that's the thing, we become so full of good intentions that we NEVER actually do any of them. Or if we do, they're half hearted & pretty lousy. Am I the only one here?

As if it wasn't already convicting enough, I started The Best Yes by Lysa TerKeurst last week. If you haven't heard of it, you NEED to read it. If you can't read it yet, put it on your list. Within the first two chapters I was brought to tears & just couldn't think straight.

I've been so caught up in the superficial things of this world that I have missed so many of the opportunities God has given me.
I've said yes to countless things that are nothing more than to please people - not to serve the Lord.
I have confused my love of others with the disease to please.
I have sought after God's direction rather than just letting him lead me where I am at.

At this point in my life I have a full time job, a growing small business, & a committed marriage. I volunteer at church, blog every day, host small group, & run an Etsy shop. I manage to cook dinner two or three times a week & I desperately seek to keep a clean house.

I am trying to do it all.

I honestly believe that the Devil thrives of these seasons in our life.
When we are "too busy" he gives us more to do.
When we can't do it anymore, he tells us we are right.
The very idea that God has provided a way out, a way to be solely satisfied in him becomes so far from our minds & THAT is where we are broken.

Lysa says in her book that a broken world will give us broken results, but unbroken companionship with our creator allows us to hear instruction. Let me say that a different way. When we are focused on things of this world there is NO way we can hear the instruction from Christ. We can't be lead when we are leading. We can't repent when we are too busy talking about being busy.

Friends, this is my life. I'm not preaching to you, I'm writing to myself.
This habitual Yes to everything & bigger, better, more mentality has to stop.

Thanks for giving me grace & for understanding my missed emails, absent posting, & spastic  instagramming. I am so thankful for each of you do constantly think about & pray for the ladies who read this space. You're awesome....don't ever change.

Frankly my dear...I need Jesus.

Time & Grace {Wednesday's Words}

Happy Wednesday, y'all! And welcome to another Wednesday's Words! This week we are talking about time management & how we take notice of God's daily blessings.

I am so excited to share this topic with you, however there are some technical difficulties occurring at the Frank home + I am absolutely exhausted (there's some honesty for ya!). I have a whole lot to talk about on this topic & it's almost ready for you but I am prayfully considering a few things before I post publish.

PLEASE check back later this afternoon for an update.
Y'all are the best & I am so blessed to have you here!
Praying over all my readers today!

Frankly my dear...thanks for your grace!

Positively Pink

Y'all know I have a heart for Breast Cancer Awareness. And if you've missed Tuesday's on Frankly My Dear, you've missed TaTa Tuesdays & all things Breast Cancer Awareness - but check it out before you leave!

Last week I posted about a Breast Cancer Chemo Kit & tweeted about it using the hashtag "SaveTheTaTas." If you're unfamiliar with that phrase, it was a campaign started by the Save The TaTas Foundation. It's an awesome tagline for an organization that funds cancer research, awareness, education, & community service.

Since the campaign began, #savethetatas has become an iconic slogan for breast cancer awareness. Hence my use of it in last week's tweet. Well, I received a reply tweet that said:

"save the women #breastcancerawareness breasts are secondary"

While I totally agree, it sort of rubbed me the wrong way. This month is about sparking conversation, drawing attention to breast cancer, & the women fighting it - not questioning other's intentions of the use of a hashtag. I also know - ALL too well that it's about the women. I am missing a friend & mentor because of this disease.

I'll admit that I am unsure of this woman's motives behind her reply tweet but it's reminded me that it's not about the petty things - this cancer is serious & it's not a joke. Stand up for what you believe & fight for those who you love.

Today I am joining with some friends who also have a heart for breast cancer to give you a giveaway that really is Positively Pink!

A Kind of Crazy Idea

I have been waiting for today ALL month!

Last month, the VERY day that I got home from the Influence Conference my sweet friend Rachel text me with these exact words: "So, I kinda have a crazy idea..."
If you know anything about us, you know that can be dangerous.
A few texts & an email later - a giveaway for the 2015 Influence Conference was born.

But First...A little background...

I've always been a huge fan of the network, but since the conference last month, my heart has grown even more for it! Through the Influence Network I have been able to connect with women from all over the country - online & real life. I've met insanely influential people in women's ministry, I've met fellow bloggers, inspiring business women, & I've sat through classes & workshops where I learn about God & am encouraged by my sisters in Christ.

I have also developed friendships that are unexplainable. I've met women who I've know for hours but feels like years. The bond we share is so much deeper & I know that it's because Jesus destined us to be friends. That may sound totally cheesy but I am just trying to get you to understand just how much I LOVE this community of women!

Rachel & I were able to meet in real life last weekend & she is my long lost sister - literally. Our friendship has grown so much through Influence I am so thankful for her faith & encouragement in my life! Oh, & we are roomies & the 2015 conference so we will see TWO of YOU there (more on that below)!

Here are a few other amazing women that I was able to meet at this year's Influence Conference!
These women are incredible & they're living lives with purpose!

Now, the crazy idea part...
