Celebrate Life!

Last week I introduced you to my new feature for Tuesdays in October - TaTa Tuesdays!

A sweet, sweet friend of mine survived cancer two years ago only for it to come back a year ago. This past spring, breast cancer took her life & so this month has a lot of meaning for me.

One of the big plans we had before she died was to host a huge party - a celebration of life if you will. We knew that the cancer was back, and worse than before, but her faith was strong & we just knew that we would be able to throw her this celebration. We never got that chance. Despite her willingness to fight, God had other plans. Instead she's celebrating in heaven - completely healed!

Today I am sharing some of my favorite party ideas that we were going to use at Mrs. Anna Lea's celebration of life, I hope that this will not only encourage you to celebrate your loved one, but to continue to remember the men & women who haven't survived this terrible cancer.

Party Decor

Chickabug Blog has the most amazing printable party decor EVER! Complete with prints, paper straw flags, party favors, & more, this post is a MUST see for all things on your Celebration of Life event list!

All Things Pink

Tissue Paper Flowers! I. Love. Them. If you missed my tutorial, visit it here.
The look in the photo below - despite the fact that it's a baby shower - is perfect for a food table at a Breast Cancer Awareness party. They're cost efficient, easy to make, & darn precious!
Let's not forget all things pink! From decor to food - this a pink party, y'all!

Fun & Games

Saving the Boobies is no easy task, so have a little fun! I loved this game idea when I ran across it on Pinterest & I know it would have been a hoot watching my friends play this game! There's something so freeing about kicking cancer's butt while embracing being a woman!

Have everyone write encouraging notes to your friend so that the party doesn't just stop after the event!

Be Educated

The whole purpose of this Celebrate Life or Breast Cancer Awanress event is not only to recognize loved ones in their battle, but it's also to educated other men & women to the risks out there. Being educated & taking action is what's necessary to fund & cure cancer.

Are you hoisting a party for a friend or family member? What are your party plans?
Understanding cancer is impossible, explaining it is even worse - so why not celebrate it?

"...Be strong and courageous. Do not dear or be in dread of them, for it is the Lord your God who goes with you. He will not leave or forsake you." Deuteronomy 31:6

Frankly my dear...Save the TaTas!

  2. Thank you. We should all celebrate life with family and friends every opportunity we get. You are honoring Anna Lea and so many more that have suffered from this disease with your post this month. I pray that someone reading takes steps to help prevent it from effecting their life.

  4. This is beautiful!! I'm doing a breast cancer awareness push on my jewelry page: www.candiwithleah.com -- 25% of purchases go to breast cancer research, because I want to help those fighting breast cancer by doing what I can!

  5. We hired this planner after picking a venue, caterer, etc. and she seamlessly took over and managed all of the details for us. She made our event so special not only for us, but also for each of our guests. Hire her for event planning and you're party will be perfect!

  6. Love the idea of the bra pong but do people pay a buck or more to play? And if the land a ball in a bra do they win something? Or is it just to play and be funny?
