Wednesday in the Word {LOVE}

Happy Wednesday, Lovlies!
I hope you’re enjoying all the cheer surrounding this sweet holiday!

I am so excited to being continuing this Wednesday in the Word series & for those who are joining in on the encouraging journey with me. More information on how to link-up & join the fun at the bottom of this post!

Continuing on with the Valentine’s week theme, I am am obviously going to talk about love in this week’s post, but maybe not in the context you might think…

What fills you?

There are so many things that fill us on a daily basis…our families, jobs, relationships, responsibilities, worry, doubt, fear…the list could go on and on. Some of the things on that list are good, some are bad…but none of them are sustainable. Each of those things listed…and many more not listed, are things of this world & things that won’t truly satisfy.

I am sure that most of you have read or heard of the “love” chapter in the bible…1 Corinthians 13. In this passage, the Bible is telling us about how we may have everything but if we don’t have love, we don’t have anything. There’s scripture throughout the bible that explains how God sent his only son to die because of love. Other scripture brings love to life in other ways, but today I am specifically focusing on one point found in 1 Corinthians 13:13:

“And now these three remain: faith, hope, and love. But the greatest of these is love.”

Taking it back to my original question – what fills you? Is it love?
I found this image last week when I was preparing for my Valentine’s week post from Paper Source (also featured earlier this week on The Birdie Bowl!).

Y’all know I am a sucker for mason jars & this illustration just spoke to my heart. I thought about all the things that fill my jar daily & sometimes (most of the time) it isnt pretty. I got this image in my head of all this yucky stuff filling my jar and then when God tried to pour love, peace, patience, & kindness in…there wasn’t any room. How wretched?! I think it’s safe to say that I am not the only one who lets other things fill them up, but I think that it is something critical to our walk with Jesus…for HIM to fill us up!

My application this week is to prioritize the things that are being put in my jar. My prayer is just like the little tag says “YOU fill me with love”. When I am filled with the love of Jesus my heart is happy & my mason jar is overflowing! That my friends, brings tears to my eyes! Think what lights into this dark world we could be if we all prayed to be filled with love! WOW!
Another application is to let Jesus fill me first. Somedays that’s a given, to start my day in the word, but sometimes it’s not. I honestly believe that when we let God fill our hearts first thing, our days are so blessed!

That’s a lot y’all, but it’s something that is so real in our every days!
I am so thankful for those who are joining me & I hope you will too! Encouraging one another in this community is so important – we ARE the body Christ! We will be sharing each Wednesday…all you have to do is grab the image at the top, share what’s on your heart, & link up below.
I can’t wait to see you next week!!

Frankly my dear…be filled with love!
