Wednesday in the Word {Glorious Unfolding}

Good Morning, Friends!

I am so incredibly overwhelmed by the kind comments & emails I have received over the past week. Thank you so much for your thoughts and prayers. Please know that I appreciate them so & that getting through these valleys in life wouldn’t be possible without the prayers & hope we have in Jesus!

Hopefully this will get me started with my usual routine agin. I am still traveling back & forth for family and work so bear with me just a little longer.

Over the past several days I’ve spoke with many family members and friends about just how much cancer sucks. It’s painful, gut-wrenching, downright evil. But, it’s part of this world and part of His plan…His glorious unfolding.

I had a really rough day yesterday as I start to transition back into my normal routine. The past week has been a blur but now that reality is setting in, it seems wrong. It honestly hurts to think about life without my friend. I know, without a shadow of a doubt that this is God’s plan. Despite my own selfish ideas of what life should look like, it’s not what he has in mind.

I was driving yesterday & heard this song for the first time. It’s perfect.

Take a listen & then really examine the words below.

Glorious Unfolding
Steven Curtis Chapman

Lay your head down tonight
Take a rest from the fightDon’t try to figure it outJust listen to what I’m whispering to your heart‘Cause I know this is notAnything like you thoughtThe story of your life was gonna beAnd it feels like the end has started closing in on youBut it’s just not trueThere’s so much of the story that’s still yet to unfold

And this is going to be a glorious unfoldingJust you wait and see and you will be amazedYou’ve just got to believe the story is so far from overSo hold on to every promise God has made to usAnd watch this glorious unfolding

God’s plan from the startFor this world and your heartHas been to show His glory and His graceForever revealing the depth and the beauty ofHis unfailing LoveAnd the story has only begun

And this is going to be a glorious unfoldingJust you wait and see and you will be amazedWe’ve just got to believe the story is so far from overSo hold on to every promise God has made to usAnd watch this glorious unfolding

We were made to run through fields of foreverSinging songs to our Savior and KingSo let us remember this life we’re livingIs just the beginning of the beginning

Of this glorious unfolding

We will watch and see and we will be amazedIf we just keep on believing the story is so far from overAnd hold on to every promise God has made to usWe’ll see the glorious unfolding

Just watch and see (unfolding)This is just the beginning of the beginning (unfolding)

Lay your head down tonight

I am so thankful for the hope that is found in Jesus. Aren’t you?!

This is a promise I am clinging to this week & know that God’s plan is greater.

It’s awesome, unimaginable, and in all ways right. It’s not over yet!!

And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.   Romans 8:28

Frankly my dear…the story is far from over!

Jenni, I am so, so sorry for your loss. Your friend sounds like an amazing and Godly woman and stay strong in knowing that she is with Him now! I lost a friend to cancer this past summer and it really isn't fair. There's not even words to describe it really. Praying for you and for her family! And thank you for sharing that song- I love it!
