Happy Wednesday, y’all! I hope you’re surviving this week!
Luke and I both have colds so it’s His & Hers Antibiotics in the Frank household – FUN!
This weekend we celebrate those men in our life we know as Daddy! Today I am sharing about Christian fathers & thanking the Lord for my very own earthly father!
As we celebrate our Father’s here on earth, it’s sometimes easy to get caught up in the gifts & BBQs, but most importantly, we should be recognizing our Heavenly Father! When I was younger it was hard for me to comprehend the idea of having two fathers. MY daddy was MY DADDY! ha! It’s comical now, but it’s also a beautiful picture of just how much the Lord loves us…to give us two daddies!
There are several attributes of God that my father also resembles & I am so grateful for that example in my life. Let’s take a look at them shall we?
Leadership
“The righteous man walks in his integrity; His children are blessed after him.” Proverbs 20:7
Teacher
“Hear, my children, the instruction of a father, and give attention to know understanding; for I give you good doctrine: Do not forsake my law.” Proverbs 4:1-2
“Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it.” Proverbs 22:6
Provider
“Or what man is there among you who, if his son asks for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will he give him a serpent? If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him!” Matthew 7:9-11
Protector
“In the fear of the Lord there is strong confidence, and His children will have a place of refuge.” Proverbs 14:26
Discipliner
“My son, do not despise the chastening of the Lord, nor detest His correction; for whom the Lord loves He corrects, just as a father the son in whom he delights.” Proverbs 3:11-12
I am so thankful for my daddy & all that he has done for me. I am most thankful for his love and his faith in the Lord. His love and leadership is just an example of a small percent of how much our heavenly father loves us. I pray that one day Luke and I will be able to say that we built a family who loved the Lord.
Thanks Dad for living for Christ & for leaving a legacy!
Frankly my dear…Fathers are the best!
